First Order of Business

Apparently they go on very fancy field trips here.
I have no idea where they took me,
however, the kids loved it.
It is hard to be around Native Teachers.
It is culture shock.
It is not pleasant.
This is the fellow I am replacing.
These are the children I will be teaching.
They seem emotionally complex.

Self portrait at time of fracture.
It will take time,
but I'm sure I will grow to love this place.
I just have to move slow.

PS I Google Earthed myself today.
I am in Anjung-eup.

Kidnapping Is The New Job Interview

As of now, I have no idea where in Korea I am.
The school, however, looks like this.

Yesterday, a different Director
from a different school
picked me up and took me home with her.
It seemed she liked my resume
and asked the other school I was going to
if she could have me.
So here I am,
where ever that is.

This is truly and funny and entertaining adventure.

Moving Day

Goodbye Sokcho
In three months I have managed to acquire a few things.
Most of which were needed to stop the bleeding.
I don't really know where I am headed,
but this is the ticket that is taking me there.
I wonder what it will be like.
This new adventure that I am on.

To help with the stress of leaving,
Zhi Xiong took me to climb mountains.

I leave in four days.
It is too soon.

 We ate with the monks.

We were plied with food and drinks until we might burst by this friendly group.

We conquered the 600 steps.

Good News / Bad News.

The good news:
I'm registered in Korea.

The bad news:
I am leaving Sokchos in two weeks.

The news came after receiving my Alien Registration card.
A translator came to help explain that I am leaving.
My employer said,
"You are the best teacher we've had in ten years.
I want to be sure you are taken care of."

I do not fully know why the change is happening.
I assume financial difficulties.
I am thankful the my employer
has taken care of me.

my heart is a little broken.

I love Sokcho.

Because I can do nothing to help,
because I can't cure cancer,
and I can't heal minds woods,
and because I can't change
what was into what I want it to be -
I made cheese.
